Developing a Program Brochure for your Colleagues, Facility and the community

Get the word out! The grantees all described awareness building, within their programs and to the outside community as a challenge. Brochure development was identified as an important step to let others know how occupational therapy services address driving and community mobility. Several teams worked together to better understand what information should be included and how to best present it. This toolkit resource offers tips on what they learned and sample brochures.

Developing Transportation Resource Guides

To address driving and community mobility effectively, occupational programs must be knowledgeable of the transportation options in their community, the criteria for eligibility and the mechanism for access. In response to the barrier “I don’t know what options are available”, several projects included a goal of developing a resource list of options. The following toolkit resources will assist programs in developing this resource for their clients. Several started with The Senior Transportation Template available on-line, while others simply listed the transportation alternatives in their community. The key to address the barrier of unknown options is to develop a list of services in your community.
