Michele Luther-Krug, COTA/L, SCADCM, CDRS, is a driving specialist with the Shepherd Center, a catastrophic care hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She provides personalized training and instruction on using adaptive vehicles, as well as information on purchasing modified vehicles.
Luther-Krug earned her Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from Schoolcraft College located in Livonia, Michigan.
Prior to joining the Shepherd Center in June 2004, Luther-Krug was a COTA/driver rehabilitation specialist for William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. For six years, she served as a COTA specializing in substance abuse for several Michigan hospitals.
In 2009, Luther-Krug received the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Virginia C. Crawford Research Day. The Virginia C. Crawford Research Institute at Shepherd Center conducts neurological and neuromuscular research. She is also a 2010 recipient of the American Occupational Therapy Association Roster of Honors Award, presented for her exemplary OTA leadership and service. In August 2010, Luther-Krug received the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) Presidential Citation. She was the Georgia Occupational Therapy Association’s Outstanding Practitioner of the Year in 2010.
