2012 Video Contest: What Is OT?

After the success of last year’s student video contest on the value of AOTA membership, our 2012 contest is open to all members. This time, we’re asking you to answer the question, “What Is OT?” We’re not looking for the academic response that practitioners would understand—we’re looking for the response that will show the public why OT is the best service they may not know they need! What makes OT unique? What makes it valuable? How does it help people live life to its fullest?

A clip of the winning video will be shown at the Welcome Ceremony of AOTA’s Annual Conference & Expo in Indianapolis, on April 26. It will also be on our Web site, and shown in other venues.

Rules: All videos must be received by midnight on February 29, 2012. No exceptions! Please send a link to your video (on YouTube or some other site) to Laura Collins at LCollins@aota.org (do not send the video as an attachment). Videos cannot exceed 4 minutes and 30 seconds (that includes everything). Only one video per submitter.

Everyone credited with creating the winning video will be required to sign over copyright of the video to AOTA. Therefore, all submitters must be ready to provide documentation that they own the copyright to any images and music used, that these items are in the public domain (please note that just because something is on the Internet doesn’t mean it it’s in the public domain), or that they have received permission from the copyright holder to use the information in the video, with no stipulations on this use. Submitters are responsible for any fees to get these permissions. Anyone filmed in the video must sign a release. You do not need to send this information unless we inform you that you that you are a finalist. See below for release forms.

The winning video will be selected by AOTA staff and volunteers, and the creator(s) will be informed by Monday, April 9, 2012. Questions? Contact Laura Collins at LCollins@aota.org.
