Important Housing Advisory: Making Your 2009 Conference Housing Reservations

AOTA learned recently that a number of exhibitors have been contacted by an individual, claiming to be with a housing bureau destination management company, and encouraging them to reserve a sleeping room at a reduced rate.  Our exhibitors are being contacted by a third-party travel company that has no connection with AOTA.  If you are contacted by one of these groups/individuals please understand that AOTA cannot guarantee the legitimacy of the offer nor the actual room being available.  AOTA cannot accept any responsibility for sleeping rooms reserved outside of our housing block.

There are a number of reasons why it is important to reserve sleeping rooms inside AOTA's block.  Reservations within the block have greater protection from hotel relocation.  Booking inside the block eliminates change fees through time of check-in at the hotel and you are not required to make full prepayment.  Rooms can be modified or cancelled easily through the official AOTA Housing Bureau or Conference hotel.  In addition, future housing and registration fees are based on the strength of our sleeping room block.  The ability to negotiate future Annual Conference fees depends on strong in-the-block reservations.  Supporting AOTA's efforts to bring you an affordable meeting is the right thing to do - for you and the Association.

The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau is the official housing company for 2009. To ensure that you do not release your credit card information to an unauthorized source, reserve rooms only through the bureau. To reserve a sleeping room, click here.  If you have any questions, please contact AOTA at conference@aota.org.
